A Poem for Harvest

My table is laden with finest treasure

That has ever given my palate pleasure:

Ruby tomatoes and emerald cukes bright

Fresh- picked from  vines, epicurean delight!

There are topaz carrots and peridot peas,

Among plump golden pumpkins sure to please.

The pearly white onions and amethyst beets

With great garnet radishes  make dreams complete.

What more wondrous wealth could ever be found

Than delicious jewels mined from fertile ground?
